We currently support the Ethereum Mainnet (ETH), Optimism (OP), and BASE blockchains.
Optimism and BASE are Layer 2 (L2) solutions for Ethereum. If you are experiencing high gas fees on Ethereum, you can try using Optimism or BASE to greatly reduce any fees.
You can learn more about each of the blockchains below:
Ethereum is a decentralized blockchain with smart contract functionality. Its native currency is Ether (ETH) which is used for transaction fees. Ethereum uses proof-of-stake (PoS) consensus, eliminating energy-intensive mining. Gas fees are paid to the validator and are determined by network capacity and demand. Platforms do not touch or have any control over the gas fees.

Optimism is a fast, stable, and scalable Layer 2 blockchain that is 10x cheaper and 6x faster than Ethereum.
On Optimism, transaction data is batched and "rolled up" to the Ethereum Mainnet. A sequencer bundles these transactions, significantly reducing costs and improving transaction speeds. All transactions are posted to Ethereum, ensuring security and longevity.

BASE is an Ethereum layer 2 built and scaled by Coinbase with the goal of bringing the next billion users onchain.
Like Optimism and other layer 2s, BASE enables a smooth user experience with 10x cheaper gas fees and lightning-fast transactions. It also allows us to offer free uploads and withdrawals so artists can interact with Sound without purchasing crypto or bridging funds.
